As a member of the Wayne State University Board of Governors, I am committed to doing everything in my power to expand access to higher education and improve the quality of life for our students. I will work to make Wayne State more affordable and accessible. The cost of higher education should not be a barrier to opportunity. I will advocate for expanded financial aid, reduced student costs, and stronger academic support systems so students can stay on track and graduate on time in an inclusive and supportive environment.
I will focus on student success beyond the classroom. This includes strengthening career services, expanding internships and research opportunities, and building partnerships that connect students to real world experience. Every student should graduate not just with a degree, but with the skills, confidence, and inclusive opportunities needed to succeed in their chosen path.
I will actively collaborate with members of Congress, state legislators, industry leaders, and philanthropic partners to open doors of opportunity and ensure that education is not a privilege, but a birthright. I will also work closely with the Wayne State Board of Governors, the University of Michigan Board of Regents, and the Michigan State University Board of Trustees to ensure that students across Michigan have the best possible opportunities in the nation to thrive. Through collaboration, we will learn from one another, share best practices, and replicate successful initiatives for continuous improvement.
My goal is simple: to ensure every student has the resources, support, and inclusive opportunities they need to thrive during their time at Wayne State and long after graduation.
