I am a proud pro labor Democrat who believes deeply that the strength of America has always been built on the sacrifice, skill, and determination of working men and women. It is the sweat, resilience, and dedication of union members that transformed this nation into a global industrial leader, and that legacy must be honored and protected.
Now is the time to stand firmly and unapologetically for the rights of union workers. Protecting fair wages, strong benefits, job security, quality healthcare, and dignified retirement is essential. These are not just workplace priorities, they are the backbone of stable families, strong communities, and a thriving economy.
As a candidate for the Wayne State Board of Governors, I am committed to being a strong, reliable, and proactive voice for labor. I will defend and strengthen collective bargaining rights so that every worker has a meaningful voice and a seat at the table. I will push for expanded workforce training and development programs that open doors to good union jobs and create lasting career opportunities for current and future workers.
I strongly oppose the privatization of university jobs. Outsourcing weakens job security, lowers standards, and erodes wages and benefits. It puts the well being of dedicated service employees at risk. I will stand shoulder to shoulder with union members to protect these essential jobs and ensure they remain stable, fair, and respected.
I am also committed to advancing transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance. Union members and campus workers deserve to be heard and involved in decisions that impact their daily lives. I will work to ensure their voices are not only included but valued, helping to build a culture rooted in respect, collaboration, and shared purpose.
My commitment is unwavering. I will fight to uplift working people, strengthen unions, and protect the dignity of labor at Wayne State. Together, we can build a future that respects the past, meets the challenges of today, and creates real opportunity for the next generation of union workers.
